On the Easel Today - Grandpap's Vintage Camera 2 Daily Oil Painting

Just finished today - Vintage Camera 2 (Brownie Target six-20), oil on linen mounted on board, 8" x 10".

I painted this using another of my grandfather's vintage cameras as a model. From what I understand, this box camera was manufactured between 1941 and 1946. It's a bit worn on the edges, which I think gives it character that made it great for painting. I also have to say that I find older cameras to be works of art in and of themselves, with the detailed gold design on the face of the camera. It may not be worth much on the market, but I like owning little bits of history like this, especially when I think about how many photos of my family were taken years ago with it. Enjoy!
