Since people seem to be curious, I thought I'd post a picture of a side by side comparison of one of my trompe l'oeil still lifes I finished this week - a folded five dollar bill taped to a board. So here is the original object and the painting on my easel. Obviously the one on the right is the painting (if nothing else, you can see my signature!). I try to get these small pieces done in about 8 hours, but not in a single sitting, since it's difficult to do lettering when the paint is wet underneath.
