"Fifty Dollar Bill," acrylic on panel, 5" x 5".
SOLD
I don’t generally keep a lot of $50 bills in my wallet, so I thought I’d paint this one before I spend it! It’s also the first trompe l’oeil money painting I’ve done in acrylic, so that was a new experience for me. Fortunately, it worked out pretty well, because a $50 bill has a little gold/bronze area for one of its numbers – and I didn’t realize this until the end. And although I don’t have gold paint in my oil colors, I did have an appropriate iridescent bronze in acrylic, which fit pretty perfectly. Thanks for looking!
